Jason Klaczynski after winning the 2008 World Championships

Jason Klaczynski, born October 10, 1985, is the only player of the Pokémon Trading Card Game to ever win the World Championships two times, in 2006 and 2008. In addition, Jason also won the 2000 Tropical Mega Battle in Hawaii at the age of fourteen, which is basically the equivalent of another World Championship. Winning the equivalent of three World titles easily makes Jason the most accomplished player to ever play the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Biography

Jason has played professional poker for about three years, which takes up most of his time. He is currently studying to be a police officer. In the little time between Pokémon events, school, and poker, Jason enjoys playing baseball and taking long walks with friends.

With Pokémon

Jason first began playing the TCG in 1998, when it was first released in North America. As can be expected from such a great player, he does spend considerable time preparing for major events in the TCG. Before using a deck, he lays it out and studies it while discussing possible strategies with friends. He enjoys discussing strategy and meeting new people through Pokémon.

Trivia

  • Mew is Jason's favorite Pokémon, because it "looks cool" and was the key part of his winning deck in 2006, Mewtrick.
  • Jason does not participate in any aspects of Pokémon with the exception of the TCG. He used to enjoy the games when he was younger, but moved away from them as his schedule tightened.
  • Jason has met his three best friends through the TCG.
