Jamming is a term used in Pokémon Contests. It means that an appeal can lower the other opponent's appeal. While some moves give you appeal from the judges, jamming reduces your opponents while raising yours. The most of these moves are status moves. These moves might cause jamming to the user too; if the move backfires the user is affected. These moves could possibly change the total outcome of the battle.
