(Japanese: アイリスのドリュウズ Iris's Doryuzu) is the second Pokémon that Iris was revealed to have. It first appeared in BW009.

History

Doryuzu was obtained by Iris before she started traveling with Ash, but she did not reveal that she had it until it appeared in BW009.

After Iris's Kibago got stuck in the horns of a wild Pendra, Iris sent out Doryuzu to help. But as soon as it came out, it stayed in its inactive state and refused to do anything. After Iris rescued Kibago herself, Doryuzu came to life and attacked Pendra after Pendra inadvertedly kicked it. It easily defeated it and sent it flying off into the horizon. Doryuzu cried out in victory before going back into its inactive state.

Trivia

  • Doryuzu is the first Steel-type Pokémon to be owned by a main character other than Brock.
  • Doryuzu's behavior is much like Ash's Charizard and Dawn's Mamoswine who chose to loaf about instead of battling and only battled on their own terms. Coincidentally, both it and Mamoswine are part Template:Type2.
    • Of the three, Doryuzu is the only one to not debut in its unevolved form, was caught off-screen, and is the only one out of the three that is part of a two-stage evolutionary line.
