Infinity Energy
Infinity Energy (Japanese: ∞エナジー Infinity Energy) is a type of energy in the Pokémon world derived from the life force of Pokémon. This life force is technically present in humans as well. It was developed and harnessed by the Devon Corporation. Its development also involved research into Mega Evolution.
In the core series games
Pokémon X and Y
3,000 years prior to the events of Pokémon X and Y, AZ's Floette had been sent to war, resulting in the Pokémon's death. AZ created a machine to revive Floette that ran on the life force of many Pokémon. Although the revival was successful, his rage was not settled, leading him to convert the machine into what is now the ultimate weapon, which he used to end the war. Professor Sycamore believes the machine's energy is the same as that used in Mega and Key Stones, which allow Trainers to Mega Evolve their Pokémon. XerneasX/YveltalY's light (or both Legendary Pokémon ZA), which had powered the weapon, radiated across the region and infused itself within Evolution stones, creating Mega Stones.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire expands on the concepts of the life energy given out during X and Y, including being given the name of Infinity Energy.
Prior to the events of games, Mr. Stone's grandfather, the previous president of the Devon Corporation, researched the ultimate weapon and wished to use the same energy to help people and Pokémon. This led Devon to develop Infinity Energy, making Devon one of the top industries in Hoenn. Infinity Energy has since been used to power machinery such as the Submarine Explorer 1 and the rockets launched from the Mossdeep Space Center. The Devon Parts were used to make the submarine run on Infinity Energy.
In the Delta Episode, a rocket full of Infinity Energy was to be launched to teleport the incoming asteroid to another dimension, prior to Zinnia preventing the launch.
Confidential documents can be found in Sea Mauville stating that Dock investigated the Devon Corporation, finding that they had used Pokémon bioenergy to create Infinity Energy. In Devon Corporation, they also do research on Rayquaza and its connection to both Infinity Energy and Mega Evolution.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, AZ revealed that when he revived his beloved Eternal Flower Floette, its resurrection created a new variation of Infinity Energy known as Mega Power.[citation needed] This variation prevents Eternal Flower Floette from evolving into Florges and instead introduces a Mega Evolution form known as "Mega Floette."[citation needed] This variation can also impact the life force of Pokémon, resulting in a phenomenon known as Rogue Mega Evolution. However, this energy causes the Pokémon to experience pain and go berserk while in their Mega-Evolved state.
Mable, the acting director of the Pokémon Research Lab, is studying life energy and its effects on both Pokémon and their environment. Team Flare has also investigated Infinity Energy, focusing particularly on Xerneas and Yveltal. The group has observed that the abilities of these two Pokémon to manipulate and control life energy are so enigmatic that even modern science cannot fully understand or decipher them.[1][2]
Infinity Energy is not mentioned by name in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Pokémon Adventures
Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc
In Slowbro Has an Idea, the Devon Corporation used devices stationed in Sea Mauville to absorb Infinity Energy from Sapphire's Blaziken and Emerald's Sceptile to power the dimensional shifter, a device required to create a wormhole that would transport the meteoroid threatening the planet somewhere else.
In PS611, the Devon Corporation was revealed to have used a device called the "flower", a cannon powered by Infinity Energy, to drain Rayquaza of its life force during a capture operation conducted years earlier at the Embedded Tower.
Trivia
- Infinity Energy is similar to Z-Power, as both affect Pokémon and have a connection to the respective battle mechanic of said regions.
