Hypnosis (Japanese: さいみんじゅつ Hypnosis) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generations I-III

Hypnosis puts the target to sleep.

Hypnosis can't affect a target that already has a major status ailment.

In Stadium, Hypnosis can't affect a target that has a Substitute.

Hypnosis has an accuracy of 60%.

Generation IV and V

In Diamond and Pearl, accuracy was improved to 70%. In Platinum, it was changed back to 60%.
