Hodge's rivalry with Goh and Ash

Hodge ran into Ash and Goh at the Hoenn Battle Frontier and quickly became rivals with them, particularly Goh, who he looked down on due to the latter's excitement over catching a mere Taillow.

Hodge later entered the Battle Frontier Flute Cup and easily defeated Goh. He advanced through the tournament, winning almost every battle, until he went up against Ash in the final round and lost to his Pikachu. After the battle, Hodge thanked Ash for the match.

Hodge is set to appear again in JN064.

Character

Hodge has a habit of always standing on his Hariyama's shoulders, which ends up getting him into trouble doing things. Despite trying to demonstrate a threatening stance, Hodge is very friendly, quickly becoming friends with Ash and greeting him after the battle in Battle Frontier Flute Cup.
