Trivia
Origin
Hippowdon is based on a hippopotamus.
Name origin
Hippowdon's name is derived from hippopotamus, power or powder (as in sand), and the suffix -don which can be taken to mean tooth, lord, etc.
Kabarudon's name is derived from the Japanese word for hippopotamus (Kaba), which it is based on.
