Hex (Japanese: たたりめ Evil eye) is a damage-dealing Ghost-type move introduced in Generation V.

Effect

Generation V

Hex's base power is 50 and will double to 100 when the target is affected by a non-volatile status condition.

Generation VI

Hex's base power was increased to 65 and will double to 130.

Hex can also be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination, giving the user extra three appeal points if a status-inducing status move (except Psycho Shift and Rest) or a certain damaging move (Force Palm, Inferno, Nuzzle or Zap Cannon) was used in the prior turn.

Hex appears as one of Chandelure's Pokémon moves. Chandelure grabs from a distance and barrages the opponent, reducing their recoverable HP. If used while the opponent's stats are lowered, the attack's damage increases.

In Pokémon GO, Hex is a Fast Attack that has been available since February 16, 2017.

Frillish	Jellicent	Effect
The user creates an intimidating purple eye or uses its own glowing red eyes to glare at the opponent. The move's power increases if the opponent is affected by a status affliction.

Frillish	Frillish's eyes glow purple and red. It then creates a sphere of black energy with a red eye in the middle. The eye then releases multiple dark blue rings of energy at the opponent. If the opponent is confused, the attack does double damage.
