Heavy Slam (Japanese: ヘビーボンバー Heavy Bomber) is a damage-dealing Steel-type move introduced in Generation V.

Effect

Generations V and VI

151Mew.png This move effect may be in need of research.
Reason: Power when target weights exactly 25% or 20% of the user's weight
You can discuss this on the talk page.

Heavy Slam deals damage. Its power depends on the weight of both the user and the target; the lighter the target is in comparison to the user, the greater the power:

Target's relative weight Power
More than 50% 40
33.34% - 50% 60
25% - 33.33% 80
20% - 25% 100
20% or less 120

Generation VII

If the target has used Minimize, Heavy Slam now deals double its regular damage and bypasses accuracy checks to always hit, unless the target is in the semi-invulnerable turn of a move such as Dig or Fly.

Trivia

  • The Pokémon with the highest potential base power for this move is Celesteela.
    • Only the 75 (including Mega-Evolved Pokémon) heaviest Pokémon (less than 10% of all Pokémon) will not experience a 120 base power Heavy Slam from a Celesteela, due to the majority of Pokémon weighing less than 199.998 kg (20% of 999.99 kg).
  • With a weight of 21.8 lbs., Tepig is the lightest Pokémon that can have this move.
