The head engineer

The head engineer is a character of the day in the Pokémon anime who appeared in the episode Bibarel Gnaws Best!. He was only named by his profession. The head engineer served as the main antagonist in the episode.

The head engineer, a corrupt engineer who designed the bridge being built knowing it would collapse, is very impatient, rash, and selfish, and cares more about his reputation as the head engineer than the safety of others.

When Ash and his friends were going to Solaceon Town they encounter the mayor and the head engineer who told Isis that she needs to complete the bridge in time. Afterwards, he walks off commenting about his reputation. The head engineer returns when he found out that the bridge wasn't completed in time. He becomes overcome with rage and tries to make it himself with his own Pokémon. He ignored Isis's and Brock's reminder in the process that Bibarel's help is needed to cut the stone quarry in the right shape. As the head engineer refused to listen to them, Bibarel attacked his Rhydon when it used Horn Drill suddenly. The head engineer used his Pokémon to beat up Bibarel to quickly get the job done.

The group, seeing what Bibarel was trying to do, battles the head engineer's Pokémon and defeats them. When the head engineer uses his digger to dig through the quarry wall, a large rock coming from the expert stonecutter's Machamp knocks the digger over. Seeing that the head engineer was recklessly attacking the quarry, Isis and the expert stonecutter take away his job and the head engineer runs off along with his Pokémon.
