Haruno

(Japanese: ハルノ Haruno) is a character of the day who appeared in Turning Over a New Bayleef. She is a keen gardener who lives between Ecruteak City and Olivine City.

As she and her Machoke returned from picking wildflowers, they noticed Bayleef lying unconscious by the river. She took Bayleef in, offering her a bowl of warm soup and a place to live while she waited for her Trainer. Bayleef quickly adapted to life at Haruno's place and enjoyed the company of the other Pokémon as well.

When Ash and his friends arrived at her place, Haruno quickly realized that something was amiss between him and his Bayleef. She generously offered them a place to stay while Ash and Bayleef patched things up, and the group accepted her hospitality. After several failed attempts to get Bayleef to rejoin him, Haruno offered Ash some advice; friendship needs time to grow. This reassured Ash and calmed him down.

Team Rocket then arrived on the scene and stole some of Haruno's Pokémon with their robo-Bayleef. Haruno pleaded for her Pokémon to be returned, but Team Rocket were determined to make their getaway. Luckily, Ash rescued all of the Pokémon, and also reunited with Bayleef.
