Nagatha

Hagatha (Japanese: スズ様 Mrs. Suzu) and Nagatha (Japanese: カネ様 Mrs. Kane) are one-time characters in the Pokémon anime who appeared in Illusion Confusion.

Hagatha lives in the middle of a forest that is believed to be haunted. To help people traveling through the forest, she rents Hoothoot to help guide them past the Gastly, Haunter and Gengar. Gary was among Hagatha's customers.

Nagatha lives at the edge of a haunted forest. She is responsible for collecting Hoothoot that her sister Hagatha rents to traveling Trainers trying to get through the forest. Ash and his friends met up with Nagatha, thinking she was her sister. Nagatha said that she is much better looking than her sister, despite the fact they are identical. The only way to tell the two sisters apart is by their headbands: Nagatha's is white, while Hagatha's is red.

Hagatha rents Hoothoot for Trainers to get through a forest that she thinks is haunted. When they are successfully through the forest the Hoothoot are given to her sister Nagatha. One appeared under the ownership of Gary where Ash and his friends were scared by hallowed trees, but Hoothoot turned everything back to normal with Foresight. Out of nowhere another one appears next to Misty, the group follow it until they come to some sort of ruins then its trainer, Hagatha. It is revealed she only has one left and it has never guided a Trainer through the forest safely, but the group decide to use it.

Suddenly blue fireballs appears around the group, they run away and Misty starts to become more fond of it. After Team Rocket attack and fail, illusions of Pokémon appears everywhere as Hoothoot runs off. In the end, Ash convinces it to help and it helps Misty out of an illusion of Bug Pokémon which are revealed to be a number of Haunter and Gengar, with the help of Ash's Pokémon they are able to send them scurrying. In the end Hoothoot is returned to Nagatha.

Hoothoot's known moves are Foresight and Peck.
