Growth (Japanese: せいちょう Growth) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation I

Growth increases the user's Special stat by one stage. Growth will do nothing if the user's Special has reached six stages or a value of 999. The effect of Growth is ignored by critical hits.

Generation II to Generation IV

The effects of Growth are the same as the previous generation, however, it increases user's Special Attack stat instead.

Generation V

Growth now increases Attack by one stage in addition to increasing Special Attack by one stage. In intense sunlight, Growth raises Attack and Special Attack by two stages each.
