  • Giima's appearance seems to be inspired by vampires, backed up by his ominous candlelit room, styled with influence from vampire backdrop such as Bram Stoker's Dracula.
  • Giima uses a male Zuruzukin upon battling him the first time. It is then replaced with a female Zuruzukin upon battling him a second time.
    • Notably, Sharpedo, who is in Zuruzukin's slot in subsequent battles, is the only male Pokémon on Giima's team, meaning that only the first Pokémon in Giima's party is male while the rest are female.
  • Lepardas is the only non dual-type Pokémon that Giima uses in battle.
  • When the player battles Giima for the first time, he has a level 50 Kirikizan. However, it evolves from Komatana starting at level 52, making it an underleveled Pokémon.

Language Name Origin
Japanese ギーマ Giima From ギーマ gīma, Vaccinium wrightii. Also from 魔 ma, "devil" or "evil influence".
