Kai Midorikawa's Charizard is a fierce and devious Pokémon that was Kai Midorikawa's starter in the Pokémon Pocket Monsters manga. It happily obeys his every order and sees itself as Clefairy's rival.

When it was a Charmander, it was seen evolving (straight into form of Charizard), but later devolved to its basic stage. However, it later evolved again, this time permanently. It has never been seen to revert to a Charmander since then. It is unknown if the second evolution was also straight to Charizard, or if Charizard had to be a Charmeleon before finally evolving to Charizard. The rules of evolution were never explained in this series.
