Release information

This card originated in the EX FireRed & LeafGreen expansion with artwork done by Nakaoka. This print was released again in the EX Delta Species and EX Power Keepers expansions. It was then released in the Stormfront expansion with new artwork by Kent Kanetsuna. It was later released as an Item card in the Emerging Powers expansion, originating from the White Collection, with new artwork by 5ban Graphics. This print was also included as part of the Boundaries Crossed in English, and in the Battle Strength Decks, the Battle Theme Deck: Victini, the Battle Gift Set: Thundurus vs Tornadus, the Keldeo Battle Strength Deck, and the Mewtwo vs Genesect Deck Kit in Japanese.

Trivia

Origin

The Great Ball is a type of Poké Ball in the Pokémon games, which has an improved capture rate over the regular Poké Ball. The fact that this card doesn't require a coin flip to work, whereas the Poké Ball card did, might be a reference to this fact.
