Global Trade Station Plus, commonly known as GTS Plus or simply GTS+, is an English Pokémon community. It is well known for its powerful Trade Station, as well as its sister site, Global PokédeX Plus. The website was co-founded by three members of a Fire Emblem fan-site, created on the 11th June 2007, and later opened to the public on the 1st July 2007.

History

The website, along with its trade station, was first launched in July 2007 with high hopes of becoming a Wi-Fi staple. Despite offering a range of interactive features, activity stayed fairly low in its opening months. The site continued to grow however, further developing its Gallery and Pokédex in mid-2008 which garnered a rise in activity. Partly due to word of mouth, the forums became a commonplace for website and general Pokémon discussion at which point the total recorded trade-count had reached 100. Around late 2008 the website was upgraded to its current V2.0. Along with the upgrade came the interactive tab, bringing about mass speculation as to what this button was for.

It was only until 2009 that activity really took off. Febuary 14th saw the launch of its sister site, Global Pokedex Plus. More casually referred to as GPX Plus, the unique adoptables website allowed users to adopt Pokémon Eggs and hatch, raise and evolve them. This feature attracted a surprising amount of new members, and in just a few months the website garnered thousands of active members. With its continually growing member base, most of the websites updates are concentrated on GPX Plus. Special events are held monthly, allowing members to obtain rare Legendary and Novelty Pokémon that are otherwise unobtainable.

The gameplay mechanics are simple. Most users are trying to attain one or more of three main goals:

1. Rank highly on the statistics boards by being extremely active. 2. Obtain Eggdex and Pokedex entries for every Pokémon known. 3. Obtain all of the achievements possible on the site.

There are eight main sections:

  • Lab- Where you adopt new Pokémon eggs through written descriptions. Legendaries are summoned here.
  • Shelter- Split into Egg Shelter, where you can find abandoned or donated eggs, and Safari, where you can find abandoned Pokémon. All bred eggs are found here.
  • Pokétch- Provides access to your party and is the control panel. Access to the underground, initiating shiny hunts, day care, user statistics, interactions, Pokéwalker, achievements, inventory, journal, released Pokémon, bred Pokémon, image codes, Pal Pad, friend recorder and VS Seeker (the in-game battle mechanic) is here.
  • Dex- Your Pokédex.
  • PC- Where Pokémon that aren't in you party are stored. Typically one has 25 boxes that each contain 24 Pokémon, but 15 more can be bought at the shop. You cannot store eggs in the PC to stop users from hoarding them.
  • Shop- Where items such as battle equipment, accounts upgrades, misc. items and evolution items can be found. Randomly displays different items everyday. It also contains a Accessories and Backroom section which are only unlocked after obtaining or purchasing from the shop the correct upgrades. Accessories are used to dress-up Pokémon, and the Backroom is where goods sold off by other members, such as summoning items, fossils, and normal shop items are found.
  • Stats- The statistics page where the site totals, daily totals, and various top tens can be found.
  • Help- The help section and FAQ.

Points (the currency used in game) can be gathered through clicking and interacting with other Pokémon and eggs to give them maturity. They are awarded when achievements are unlocked, and every time a Pokémon is leveled to 100, or a new egg is adopted.
