It is capable of freezing its fur into sharp needle-like icicles, which it can fire at opponents or use as protection as it tackles at its prey. It can quickly drop its body temperature below −75 °F (−60 °C). Glaceon is rather popular in ski resorts due to its ability to create powdery snow. Those captivated by Glaceon's beautiful snowfall will be instantly frozen without realizing it. | ||

Glaceon (Japanese: グレイシア Glacia) is an Ice-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.
- In all games except Sword and Shield, Eevee evolves when leveled up near an Ice Rock.
- In Sword and Shield and Legends: Arceus, Eevee evolves when exposed to an Ice Stone.
It is one of Eevee's final forms, the others being Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, and Sylveon.
Biology
Glaceon is a quadrupedal, mammalian Pokémon covered in light-blue fur that can be frozen into sharp quills. It has long, pointed ears, dark eyes, and a small nose. A teal crest with two dangling flaps adorns its head, resembling hair or headgear. Glaceon has two dark blue, rhombus-shaped markings on its back; the tip of its tail, feet, and flaps are the same shade of blue.
By controlling its body temperature, the moisture in the air freezes, producing ice crystals or diamond dust surrounding it.

Trivia
- Glaceon's Japanese name is the same as the English name of Glacia, a member of the Hoenn Elite Four.
- According to the Diamond and Pearl Pokédex, Glaceon, Leafeon, and Umbreon have identical footprints.
- As there is no Ice Rock in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, it is impossible to evolve Eevee into a Glaceon in these games. The same applies for Magnezone, Probopass, and Leafeon. All have to be traded from Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum to be obtained.
- Despite Eevee being obtainable before the Pokémon League in Pokémon Black and White Versions 2, it cannot evolve into Glaceon or Leafeon until after the Elite Four is defeated. This is because the Twist Mountain, where the Ice Rock is located, cannot be reached until that point in the game, as the entrances to it and the Tubeline Bridge are blocked.
- Glaceon shares its category with Vanillite. They are both known as the Fresh Snow Pokémon.
- Glaceon was designed by Atsuko Nishida.[1]
Origin
Like many of the Eeveelutions, Glaceon shares characteristics with foxes, dogs, and cats. It may be more closely based on an arctic fox, due to their habitat. Assuming Leafeon draws inspiration from Siamese or other colorpoint cats, Glaceon may also draw some inspiration from them (especially blue points). Its "hair" resembles an ushanka or a scarf hat.
Name origin
Glaceon may be a combination of glacier (a large, slow-moving mass of ice on land) or glace (French for ice) and eon (an immeasurably long period of time, possibly referring to how long evolution takes naturally). Eon is a suffix all Eevee evolutions share and was Eevee's English prototype name. Incidentally, its name is also an anagram of congeal (to become solid, usually by cooling).
Glacia may be derived from glacier. It may also involve grace.
