[[Zero]] and [[Infi]] are shown, tracking down the dimensional warp. By the time they arrive in their airship, however, Giratina has dragged Dialga completely back into the [[Reverse World]]. | Meanwhile, {{Ash}}, {{OBP|Dawn|anime}}, {{an|Brock}} and their Pokémon are getting ready to sit down to a big breakfast of pancakes. Ash is already sitting down and about to eat when Dawn makes him wash his hands. While Ash is washing his hands, a shadowy figure appears on the table and starts eating. When they approach it, they discover it is a Pokémon, but it runs away. Ash and Dawn's Pokémon stop it from escaping. During this commotion, the rest of Brock's pancakes start to burn. The Pokémon sucks up the smoke, and then causes an explosion. After the explosion, it looks charred and weak, so the group run to take it to the [[Pokémon Center]].

| At the Pokémon Center, the group discovers that the mysterious Pokémon is Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokémon. Shaymin seems to have recovered from its earlier exhaustion, eating lots of food. It tells Ash that it wants more food, showing that it can communicate {{wp|telepathy|telepathically}}. Shaymin burps, and the group duck for cover, expecting another explosion. [[Nurse Joy]] explains that the earlier explosion was {{m|Seed Flare}}, Shaymin's signature move. Brock realizes that the smoke from the burning pancakes was probably what caused Shaymin to use Seed Flare. Shaymin tells the others that it wants to go to the "Flower Bearing". At the Flower Bearing, Shaymin from all over gather together at the [[Gracedia|Gracedia Flower Garden]]. With their combined power, they fly around, creating new gardens. The group decide to take Shaymin to the flower garden, and leave the Pokémon Center.

| On the way, Dawn stops to look in a large mirror on the side of the road. Shaymin appears scared of the mirror and runs away, but [[Jessie]] and [[James]] catch it. Before they can take it away, Giratina appears in the mirror and sucks Ash, Pikachu, Dawn, Piplup, Jessie, James, Meowth, and Shaymin inside, leaving Brock behind. They fall through a dimensional warp and appear in the Reverse World. They find that the Reverse World's gravity is very weak. Shaymin tells the others that it's scared and it wants to leave. They see Giratina and Shaymin panics, saying that Giratina wants to eat it. Pikachu and Piplup start to fight Giratina, but a strange man in the distance tells them to stop and to come over with them. They all start running until they reach a safer place away from Giratina. The man explains to them that they are in the Reverse World, which is the other side of the real world, although it never actually intersects with the real world. He introduces himself as [[Newton Graceland]] and explains that he's been studying the Reverse World for five years. When Ash asks about Giratina, Newton explains that it is the ruler of the Reverse World and that it is the only Pokémon that lives there.

| The group decide to head back to the real world through the dimensional warp that let them in. As they are running, Newton explains that Giratina is probably angry because recently two dimensions that were never supposed to meet collided. Ash realizes that that was what happened in [[M10|Alamos Town]]. Newton says that because of the battle, a large amount of noxious gas appeared in the Reverse World, making Giratina angry. Newton concludes by telling the group that this happened because the Reverse World and the real world are connected, so a distortion in one will affect the other. The group are about to jump into the portal, but Giratina begins to give chase. They think that Giratina has picked up Shaymin and taken it away, but it turns out it was a {{m|Substitute}}. Newton decides to remain in the Reverse World a little longer, so Ash, Dawn, and the Pokémon jump into the portal without him. Newton tells them to avoid mirrors, because Giratina can see into the real world through them.

| They fall back into the real world through the mirror, where Brock is waiting. Returning to their original goal of finding the flower garden, they set off again. Suddenly, Shaymin is attacked by a large group of {{p|Magnemite}}. They turn out to belong to Zero, who demands that they hand over Shaymin.

| Chapter two starts with Zero demanding that the group hand over Shaymin. Zero’s {{p|Magnezone}} uses {{m|Mirror Shot}}, and Pikachu counters with {{m|Thunderbolt}}. Thunderbolt hits Mirror Shot and creates a huge explosion. After the smoke clears, Zero finds they have escaped down the road. He commands his Magnemite to give chase. The group turns down an alleyway, where the Magnemite lose the trail.

| It turns out the group had jumped onto a train. Ash believes that the train is headed to the Flower Bearing. Shaymin tells him that they will not make it in time. It knows that the flowers are blooming at that moment, but it doesn’t know where the Flower Garden is. Giratina slowed Shaymin’s progress, which leads it to believe it will be left behind. Ash then says that everyone will all help Shaymin find the flower garden. After enthusiastic agreements from Pikachu, Piplup, and Dawn, Shaymin says that they will all go together.

| Shortly afterwards, Shaymin sees a bouquet of flowers that a young couple, [[Layla]] and [[Moose]], are holding. The flowers turn out to be {{OBP|Gracidea|flower|Gracidea Flowers}}, which are a present for Layla’s mother. Pollen from the flowers drifts towards Shaymin, which causes it to glow. Ash is bewildered, especially when Shaymin starts to fly. Moose explains how Shaymin changes into [[Form differences#Shaymin|Sky Forme]] when it comes in contact with Gracidea pollen.

| In the Reverse World, Newton notices that Giratina is on the move. It sees a window through a dimensional warp. The train enters a tunnel, and Giratina’s appears in the window. {{TP|Dawn|Piplup}} notices Giratina attempting to enter the train. He panics as the train leaves the tunnel. Dawn asks what’s wrong with Piplup, and he points to the window where Giratina came in. Giratina is gone, but the Magnemite from before are back.

| The Magnemite crash through the windows and head straight for Shaymin. Shaymin attacks a Magnemite that flies out the window. Then, it attacks four Magnemite at once, all of which are blown out the train. Suddenly, Zero’s Magnezone appears behind Shaymin. Pikachu and Piplup attack it with Thunderbolt and BubbleBeam, but it does almost nothing. Shaymin comes in, and attacks it with Pikachu and Piplup. The triple attack proves too much for Magnezone, who is blown out the window. Ash compliments Shaymin, who then says everyone should thank it. Suddenly, a childhood memory comes back to Moose. It is about a flower garden in a town, where a Sky Forme Shaymin was doing the Flower Bearing. This causes an angry outburst from Ash that rockets the train off the tracks.

| The group is now on a boat traveling down a river. Moose explained that the fastest way to get to the town is by boat. A couple of {{p|Combee}}, {{p|Wingull}}, and {{p|Swablu}} fly overhead. Shaymin joins them, followed by Pikachu (on {{AP|Staravia|Staraptor}}'s back), and Piplup, who swims below them. Brock says that the river is beautiful, because the surface of the water is like a mirror. The water turns violent, because a whirlpool has formed, and Giratina’s at the center. Shaymin sees Giratina, and dives into the whirlpool. The boat is dragged closer and closer, resulting in the group falling overboard and back into the Reverse World. Meanwhile, Megarig appears overhead. Zero, with his airbike and army of Magnemite, descends in after the group.

| The group land in the Reverse World, and Shaymin is already battling Giratina. Its attacks are doing nothing, because of Giratina’s sheer size. Piplup, Pikachu, and Croagunk all come out to help Shaymin. The four attacks do injure Giratina, but it flees from the battle. Shaymin attempts to give chase, but night falls, and Shaymin goes back to its Land Forme. Brock finds a cave, and Shaymin explains how the Gracidea pollen doesn’t work well at night, which is why it changed to [[Form differences#Shaymin|Land Forme]]. Brock sees a light up ahead, and the group runs into Newton again. After a quick intro to Brock, Team Rocket shows up with a tea tray. Meowth attempts to capture Shaymin, but he notices two shadowy figures behind a rock. They turn out to be Magnemite, who grab Shaymin and bring him to Zero. Ash wants to know how Zero got into the Reverse World, but Newton answers for him, saying he came on the same dimensional warp. Ash asks if Newton knew Zero, and Newton says that Zero was once his assistant. Zero proclaims that he wants to be ruler of the Reverse World, and a flashback of six years before comes up.

| Zero and Newton have just entered the Reverse World for the first time, and they both notice Giratina. Zero wants to obtain the power of Giratina for themselves, but Newton refuses, saying neither Giratina nor the Reverse World should be ruled by humans. Back to present time, Dawn yells at Zero, telling him to let Shaymin go. Zero says that Shaymin is the bait that can bring him to power. He sends the Magnemite forward to smoke-bomb Shaymin, in an attempt to make it use Seed Flare. Giratina sees Shaymin and comes barreling towards it, knocking aside the Magnemite. Dawn explains that Giratina wants Shaymin to use Seed Flare so it can go to the real world. Shaymin lets loose with Seed Flare, and it creates a huge dimensional warp. Giratina goes for the light, and materializes in the real world. As soon as that happens, Megarig moves into position and succeeds in capturing Giratina.
