A Gift (Japanese: ギフト Gift) is an item that was introduced to Pokémon GO on June 21, 2018, in conjunction with the Friends feature. It is a box of items that players can send to other players who have been added as Friends.
Effect
Players will be notified whenever they have received a Gift and when a Gift they have sent has been opened. Attached to the Gift box is a postcard of the Photo Disc where the Gift was originally obtained. Players receive 200 XP upon sending a Gift, which is not affected by using a Lucky Egg. Opening a Gift counts towards daily activities that can increase the players' Friendship level.
A player can only send one Gift to each friend per day and cannot send another one to the same friend until the previous Gift has been opened. Players can only open up to 20 Gift boxes a day, though there is no limit on how many can be received at once. If the Bag is full, Gifts cannot be opened until there is space available. Gifts do not take up space in a player's Bag, but each player can only carry up to ten (originally five) Gift boxes at one time.
Stickers

Since June 11, 2020, players also have the option to place one sticker onto a Gift's postcard upon sending it out. Stickers can most commonly be obtained from opening Gifts, spinning PokéStops, or purchasing from the Shop.

Acquisition
Gifts can only be obtained by spinning Photo Discs at PokéStops or Gyms. Each Gift includes a postcard that can be viewed by the recipient that states where the Gift was obtained.
Contents
A Gift box is guaranteed to contain a sticker and three of the following bundles, possibly multiple of the same bundle. Among the possible bundles, evolution items are the rarest. Items from Gifts are subject to the same minimum level requirements as those of PokéStops and Gyms. If a 7 km Egg is obtained from a Gift, its met location will be the location of the Photo Disc from which the Gift was originally obtained.
