Georgia's Beartic (Japanese: ラングレーのツンベアー Langley's Tunbear) is the first Pokémon seen under Georgia's ownership.

History

Beartic and Georgia

Beartic debuted in Iris and Excadrill Against the Dragon Buster!, where it was sent out by its Trainer to battle Iris's Pokémon. During the battle, it took out both Axew and Excadrill, resulting in victory for Georgia. It was sent out again the next day to battle Excadrill. Even though Excadrill was no longer disobedient towards his Trainer, the battle ended in a draw.

In Reunion Battles In Nimbasa!, it was used to battle Sylvester's Joltik in the first round of the Club Battle. After taking heavy damage from Thunderbolt, it collapsed on the Attaching Pokémon, crushing it with its weight and winning the match.

In Crisis at Ferroseed Research!, Beartic helped clear the moss covering the Ferroseed Research Institute created by the Ferroseed there.

In Jostling for the Junior Cup, Beartic was used to battle Iris's Dragonite in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup. Despite having a major type advantage and Dragonite disobeying Iris, Beartic was knocked out by one Thunder Punch, eliminating Georgia from the tournament.

Personality and characteristics

True to its species, Beartic appears to be very powerful. It also is the kind of Pokémon that proudly follows the title of its Trainer, in this case Georgia being a prominent Ice-type user. Beartic is very loyal to its Trainer and takes great pride in battling any Pokémon, even one against which it is at a disadvantage. Beartic also seems to be quite persistent, such as when it kept on eliminating the rapidly growing moss coming from the Ferroseed despite being tired from using multiple Ice Beams.
