A summon gear can only be used once a gauge is filled up by defeating wild Pokémon. All common and rare power gears require the Pokémon to defeat five wild Pokémon to fill up the summon gauge. Super rare power gears are indicated by the [[File:SR icon Rumble Rush.png|15px]] icon and the required number to charge the summon gauge differs for each gear. | ||

Power and requirements for upgrading rare summon gears | The power and level limit of summon gears have increased over various islands. Gears received an increase in power from Garchomp Sea and Bulbasaur Sea, and the level limit was increased to 10 from Mewtwo Sea. Gears released prior to these boosts retain their power and level limit at the values at which they were introduced. | ||

Power and requirements for upgrading super rare summon gears | The power and level limit of summon gears have increased over various islands. Gears received an increase in power from Garchomp Sea and Bulbasaur Sea, and the level limit was increased to 5 from Mewtwo Sea. Gears released prior to these boosts retain their power and level limit at the values at which they were introduced. | ||

Power and requirements for upgrading | Some summon gears can be considered as upgraded counterparts to a common summon gear (e.g. Aqua Tail Gear (Feraligatr) is an upgraded counterpart to Aqua Tail (Croconaw)). Introduced in Butterfree Sea, these have a reduced power compared to the standard SR summon gears. Power and requirements for upgrading these are listed below. | ||

Gears (Japanese: ギア Gear) are items in Pokémon Rumble Rush which provide various useful boosts when equipped to Pokémon. They were developed by the Adventurers Club and are obtained by refining Ores. They can also be purchased using Platinum Points at the My Nintendo website.
Gears start at Lv. 1, and can be upgraded using coins and Upgrade Kits which correspond for the respective gear. Upgrade Kits can be obtained by refining Ores and by sending gears to the club.
There are two types of gears - power gears and summon gears. All Pokémon have one socket to equip a summon gear, and can have one or two sockets to equip power gears. Pokémon given to the player at the start of a new event do not have any gear sockets.
Power gear
Power gears (Japanese: ちからギア Strength Gear) are gears which provide boosts to a Pokémon's stats. Prior to Mewtwo Sea, any power gear could be placed into the one or two available gear sockets.
Since Mewtwo Sea, power gears have been categorized into three groups: style power gear, Pokémon power gear, and other power gear. Pokémon with only one socket can equip one style or other power gear, but the socket will not accommodate for a Pokémon power gear. Pokémon with two sockets can equip a style/other gear in one socket, and a Pokémon/other gear in the other socket, but cannot equip two style or two Pokémon gears.
Style power gear
Style power gear are denoted by the presence of two cogs around the gear. These gears provide a CP boost to the Pokémon, while also boosting certain types of moves or HP.
With the classification of gears in Mewtwo Sea, the Charge Boost and Snappy gears were restyled with their effects slightly altered and level limit increased. Brawny was re-classified as a style power gear in Bulbasaur Sea with a similar alteration.
Power Gear | Base Effect | Effect Increase per Level | Level Limit | Availability | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Charge Boost | Increases CP by 50* Attack goes up on charged moves |

Requirements for upgrading style power gears are listed below.
Pokémon power gear
Pokémon power gear are denoted by the presence of three cogs around the gear. These gears can only be equipped to specific Pokémon families, and when equipped, provide a CP boost as well increasing the CP boost provided by a particular style power gear.

Summon gear
Summon gears (Japanese: ミラーギア Mirror Gear) are gears which allow the player to summon an ally Pokémon to unleash a powerful attack. A summon gear can only be used once a gauge is filled up by defeating wild Pokémon. All common and rare power gears require the Pokémon to defeat five wild Pokémon to fill up the summon gauge. Super rare power gears are indicated by the icon and the required number to charge the summon gauge differs for each gear.
