Garbodor (Japanese: ダストダス Dasutodasu) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

It evolves from Trubbish starting at level 36.

Biology

Physiology

Garbodor are Pokémon that have the appearance of a pile of trash that spilled out of a large, torn open garbage bag. They have round, lumpy-shaped bodies that are tan colored with blue, and pink lumps on it. Their heads have the appearance of the tied end of a garbage bag that has been ripped open and trails down like a cape. They have two appendages that look like clumps of garbage coming from their head, which resemble pigtails or ears. Garbodor have two rather long arms made of garbage that are held together with piping and fingers also made up of piping material. They have one finger on their left hand, and three on the other. They also have flat, dumpy feet.

Gender differences

None.

Special abilities

It is able to spray poisonous gas or filth from its fingertips, but only from its right hand. It also finishes off opponents by subduing them with its left arm and spewing an awful smelling toxic gas from its mouth.

Behavior

Trivia

Origin

Garbodor is based on a garbage bag that is bursting with garbage. It may also have been inspired by garbage rats considering the ear-like appendages atop its head. Garbodor may also be based on the imagined fear that heavy pollution, caused by the leakage or improper disposal of radioactive waste may result in the creation of new and undesirable life.

Name origin

Garbodor is a combination of garbage and odor. Dasutodasu may be a transliteration of ダスト dasuto meaning dust and 出す dasu meaning to exert or produce.
