This card was released as a promotional card. In Japan, it was released as a special card by All Nippon Airways throughout June and July in 1999. Passengers flying in conjunction with the "Pokémon Getaways" campaign could redeem their boarding passes for a two-card set that included Flying Pikachu and Articuno.
