Floette (Japanese: フラエッテ Floette) is a Fairy-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI.

It evolves from Flabébé starting at level 19 and evolves into Florges when exposed to a Shiny Stone. Its flower can come in five different colors.

It has an unreleased alternate form called the Eternal Flower Floette.

Biology

Floette is a small Pokémon with a white upper body and a deep-green lower body. Its eyes are black with a green, leaf-like extension over each similar to eyelashes. It has long, notched ears with a yellow ring around the base of each. Its tail is spade-shaped, and it has thin arms with mitten-like hands. It has two thin black lines on its head. It is a female-only species with no male counterpart.

Floette also holds a flower with five rounded petals that can be red, yellow, orange, blue, or white. The flower has three yellow stamens and a long green stem with a single leaf. A more gorgeous flower contains more power for Floette. Floette cannot use moves without flowers. Floette can restore withered flowers of little power into becoming healthy. It flutters around and cares for withered flowers by giving its own power to them. If the flowers of a well-tended flower bed bloom, Floette celebrates with an elegant dance. However, it will never forgive anyone who tramples a flowerbed.

The Eternal Flower Floette, the Floette that befriended AZ, is different from a normal Floette. Its tail and eyebrows are blue and the rings around its ears are red. Its flower is different as well and no longer blooms anywhere. It has six petals instead of five: three that are big and three that are smaller. The stem is red and leafless, and stigma is black and conical. The flower's underside is black and the top of the three big petals are patterned red and black. This flower contains terrifying energy.

The Eternal Flower Floette is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Light of Ruin, though the move cannot be used legitimately due to the Pokémon being unreleased.

  • Pokémon X and Y: 3,000 years ago, AZ befriended a special Floette who died in the ancient Kalos war. AZ created a giant machine to bring his friend to life, and while he succeeded in granting his friend eternal life, his immeasurable grief led him to turn the machine into an immensely powerful weapon. The weapon decimated the armies of both sides, and brought an end to the war. However, upon learning that the weapon drew upon the life of other Pokémon, the Floette left him in disgust. Through the player's actions, however, AZ's grief is lifted, and the two old friends reunite during the credits of the game.
