Biology
Biology
Floatzel is an orange Pokémon resembling an anthropomorphic otter or weasel with longer arms than legs. It has four fingers on each hand and three toes on each foot. Its feet are small in comparison to the rest of the body. It has two pointed blue fins on its arms, two aligned, backward-swept, pointed fins on its head, and two tails. The yellow flotation device, which seems to be made of rubber or a similar substance, gives the impression of an inflatable life vest. The flotation sac goes in a kind of ring behind its head, down in front of its arms, then back behind its back above the tails. When it lays on its back, the flotation sac could also be interpreted as a sort of inflatable dinghy using its tails as a propeller and its fins as oars. Its tails can infinitely spin around like propeller blades. Its forelimbs and tails are tipped in cream, and there is an orange teardrop shape near the bottom of its cream belly.
Floatzel is an orange Pokémon resembling an anthropomorphic otter or weasel with longer arms than legs. It has four fingers on each hand and three toes on each foot. Its feet are small in comparison to the rest of the body. It has two pointed blue fins on its arms; two aligned, backward-swept, pointed fins on its head; and two tails, which can spin like a propeller in a similar way to its pre-evolution's. It has cream colorations on its forehead, eyelids, muzzle, belly, and the tips of its forelimbs and tails. It also has one cream, slightly protruding, oval-shaped spot on its back if it is female, and two of these spots if it is male. There is an orange teardrop shape near the bottom of its belly, and a pattern of two black triangles on the edges of its muzzle. It has small, sharp canine teeth, the top two of which can be seen when its mouth is closed.

Floatzel also has a circular cream spot in the center of its head, cream eyelids and a pattern of two black triangles on the edges of its cream muzzle. It has one cream, slightly protruding, oval-shaped spot on its back if it is female and two if it is male. It has small, sharp canine teeth, the top two of which can be seen when its mouth is closed. It can use its swimming capabilities to assist in the rescues of drowning people. To help it dive, Floatzel can deflate its flotation sac, and then inflate it once again when it wishes to surface. It is a fresh water Pokémon and tends to inhabit swift-moving rivers. Some believe Floatzel is a fish-eater.
Floatzel has a yellow flotation sac, which seems to behave similar to rubber. The flotation sac goes in a kind of ring behind its head, down in front of its arms, then back behind its rear above the tails. Floatzel's sac developed as a result of chasing prey in the water. To help it dive, Floatzel can deflate its flotation sac, and then inflate it once again when it wishes to surface. Floatzel's sac allows it to not drown, even in stormy seas. Along with hunting for food, Floatzel can use its swimming capabilities to assist in the rescues of drowning people, by carrying them like a raft. It is often seen near fishing hamlets.

Evolution
Floatzel evolves from Buizel.
Major appearances
Floatzel debuted in Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! (Part 1), where Kellyn used his Capture Styler on a wild Floatzel so he could use it to escape from a group of Sharpedo that belonged to J's henchmen.

Crasher Wake used a male Floatzel in A Crasher Course in Power! during his Gym battle against Ash. Floatzel battled Pikachu and defeated him before being defeated itself by Buizel's Water Pulse. It seems to know many different defensive techniques to guard himself from attacks, such as inflating the flotation sac around his body and blocking with his fin. He reappeared briefly in flashbacks in For The Love Of Meowth and League Unleashed!.
(For specifics on this Pokémon's evolution in the games, refer to Game data→Evolution data.)

<div style="float:center; display:flex; flex-flow:row wrap;">
Kenny's Floatzel debuted in Last Call — First Round!, where it was used in the Performance Stage of the Sinnoh Grand Festival along with Kenny. Their Double Performance was going well until Empoleon's Flash Cannon sent Floatzel flying backwards. It reappeared in Four Roads Diverged in a Pokémon Port!, where they got advice from Jasmine but became the target of an attack by TRT.

In the Pokémon Adventures manga
In A Big Stink Over Stunky, a Floatzel is first seen acting as the motor jet for Professor Rowan and his assistant (Platinum's father) as they arrived in Canalave City.

In A Skuffle with Skorupi, Crasher Wake is seen with a Floatzel, which he used to battle Platinum's Empoleon, but after a close battle, lost. A few volumes later, under Wake's command, Pearl attempted to catch one himself, but failed to do so and resorted to catching the weaker Buizel.

Multiple Floatzel appeared in Besting Buizel I.

Two Floatzel appeared in a flashback in The Final Dimensional Duel X.

Floatzel (Japanese: フローゼル Floazel) is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV.

It evolves from Buizel starting at level 26.

Biology

Floatzel in the anime

Major appearances

Floatzel debuted in Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! (Part 1), where Kellyn used his Capture Styler on it so he could use it to escape from a group of Sharpedo that belonged to J's henchmen.

In A Crasher Course in Power!, Crasher Wake used a male Floatzel during his Gym battle against Ash. After battling hard against Pikachu, Floatzel then went up against Buizel, whom he lost to after a close-range Water Pulse. He knows many different defensive techniques to guard himself against attacks, such as inflating the flotation sac around his body and blocking with his fin. He reappeared briefly in flashbacks in For The Love Of Meowth and League Unleashed!; and during the ending credits of Zoroark: Master of Illusions, where he was seen alongside his Trainer.

In Last Call — First Round!, Kenny used a male Floatzel in the Performance Stage of the Sinnoh Grand Festival along with Empoleon. Their Double Performance was going well until Empoleon's Flash Cannon sent Floatzel flying backwards. In Four Roads Diverged in a Pokémon Port!, he and Kenny were given advice by Jasmine before being targeted by Team Rocket.

Trivia

Origin

Floatzel may be based on an otter or weasel combined with various flotation devices such as inflatable armbands, a life jacket, and a life raft. Floatzel's two tails can rotate like a screw similarly how boats use propellers to move by pushing water.

Name origin

Floatzel and Floazel may be combinations of float and weasel.
