Fletchy (Japanese: ガル Yako-chan) is a Fletchinder owned by Y in Pokémon Adventures.

History

As a Fletchling

Prior to the start of the series Y owned Fletchy as a Fletchling. Fletchy traveled with Y to the Vaniville Town's Sky Trainer academy, where the two learned how to battle as Sky Trainers. While there Y was often picked on due to Fletchy not being qualified to enter in a Sky Battle, despite being able to fly.

Fletchy was first seen as a Fletchling in An X-cuse to Come Out and Play, flying alongside her Trainer to X's house to convince him to get out of his house, but to no avail.

In Inn-teresting Developments, Fletchy was used to battle against an innkeeper's Spritzee after she trapped them inside her inn. After a quick exchange of attacks Fletchy realizes that Y needs to get outside and uses Peck to break the window open for her. After she escapes Fletchy returns to her battle with Spritzee to keep them away from Y.

In Overthrowing a Tyrunt, Fletchy battles against a group of Espurr alongside Croaky, Tierno's Corphish, and Shauna's Skitty. After a long battle Cassius shows up and realizes that the Espurr are winning. He sends out his Gourgeist and has it use Confuse Ray to stop the Espurr, allowing him to grab them.

In Burning Fletchinder, the group is attacked by a group of Sky Trainers, led by Yvette, who challenges Y to a Sky Battle. Y accepts the challenge and her and Fletchy take to the sky. The battle starts with the two being hit by Yvette's Vivillon's Hurricane, throwing them off course. Yvette then grabs Y and taunts her for still using the unqualified Fletchy. Due to Y's frustration Fletchy evolves into Fletchinder and uses her new Flame Charge to defeat one of the Vivillon. Yvette soon passes out and Fletchy flies over and saves her.

Personality and characteristics

Fletchy is a kind and free spirited Pokémon, though when she goes into battle she becomes focused and determined to defeat her opponent, no matter what the opponent may be. Fletchy is very smart and insightful, and usually acts without needing her Trainer to tell her what to do.
