Flatter (Japanese: おだてる Flatter) is a non-damaging Dark-type move introduced in Generation III. It is similar to Swagger.

Effect

Flatter raises the target's Special Attack by one stage and then confuses it. Even if the target is already confused or protected by Safeguard, its Special Attack will still be raised.

If powered up by a Darkinium Z into Z-Flatter, the user's Special Defense stat raises one stage.
