Flat Battle (Japanese: フラットバトル Flat Battle) is a battle mode introduced in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. In those games, it is found at the Pokémon Communication Club Colosseum, while in Generation V, it is found at the Union Room. Like the Battle Tower and related Battle Frontier facilities, any Pokémon above level 50 will have its stats and level reduced to its level 50 version, while keeping all its moves and accumulated EVs.

Unlike the Standard Cup and other rule sets for wireless battles, the Pokémon can be of any level before entering.

Flat Battle mode will only be available after the player's childhood friend (Lyra or Ethan) have shown the player how to catch Pokémon.

In Generation VI, it is instead known as Flat Rules (Japanese: フラットルール Flat Rules) and is accessed through the Battle function of the Player Search System.
