The Fairy type (Japanese: フェアリータイプ Fairy type) is one of the eighteen types.
The Fairy type was introduced in Generation VI. As well as introducing new Pokémon with the Fairy type, a handful of Pokémon including Jigglypuff, Marill, and Gardevoir were retconned to be Fairy-type.

Trivia
- As the Fairy type was introduced after physical and special were attributes assigned to individual moves rather than types, it is the only type without an associated damage category.
