The '''Extreme Pokémon Race''' is a popular sport in [[Eggseter]], a town in northern [[Johto]].  It is a race where the competitors put their Pokémon in a leash and collar and have them pull them on a skateboard while carrying around a toy Pokémon egg.  The prize is a Golden Poké Ball trophy for the trainer and a medal for the winning Pokémon. The Extreme Pokémon Race is an anime-exclusive competition that was featured in Extreme Pokémon!.

In the past, people typically used Pokémon like Tauros to pull carts and make arduous journeys. This normal mode of transport soon became the competitive sport of "Extreme Pokémon", which is particularly popular in the small Johto town of Eggseter.

Each Trainer puts their partner Pokémon in a leash and collar, allowing the Pokémon to pull them on a skateboard. The difficult course has competitors cross the winding Eggseter Valley to the Shelby Ranch as the pit stop to pick up a dummy Pokémon Egg.
