In Japan, this card was released as a promotional card with artwork by Atsuko Nishida in the August 1998 CoroCoro Comic, along with Lt. Surge's Electabuzz. It was reprinted in the Japanese Tamamushi City Gym Theme Deck with artwork by Ken Sugimori. It was later released in the Gym Heroes expansion, having been previously reprinted in the Japanese Leaders' Stadium expansion.
