This card was included in the Vivid Voltage expansion with artwork by sui, first released in the Japanese Amazing Volt Tackle expansion. It was reprinted as a Non Holofoil card in the Japanese Single Strike Premium Trainer Box. It was reprinted again as a Full Art Secret card with artwork by Ryo Ueda in the Chilling Reign expansion, first released in the Japanese Jet-Black Spirit expansion. The Vivid Voltage print was reprinted again in the Japanese VMAX Climax subset.

Buzzap Generator is likely a reference to Base Set Electrode's Buzzap Pokémon Power, including its name and a similar effect (providing two Energy at the cost of Knocking Out Electrode). Electric Ball is an attack that first appeared on Eelektrik from Noble Victories. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Y. The Chilling Reign print features the Shiny version of Electrode.
