Drifloon (Japanese: フワンテ Fuwante) is a Ghost/Flying-type Pokémon.

Biology

Physiology

Drifloon has a round, purple body with two stringy arms that have a yellow heart-shape on them. Drifloon has black-dot eyes and a yellow "X" on it's face. A white mass of fluff sits on top of Drifloon's head.

Drifloon first appeared in Drifloon and the Messenger of the North Wind, where many were the friends of two young Joys.

In the manga

It appeared in the manga Diamond and Pearl when the trio were in Valley Windworks as a friend of the worker there.

Drifloon is based on balloons.

Name origin

"Fuwante" may be derived from "fuwa fuwa", meaning soft, fluffy, and light. Its English name is a combination of "drift" and "balloon".
