Drain Punch inflicts damage, and up to 50% of the damage dealt to the target is restored to the user as HP. If this attack deals 1 HP of damage, 1 HP will be restored to the user. Drain Punch has a base power of 60.
If Drain Punch breaks a substitute, no HP will be restored to the user. If HP is restored to the user when its current HP is greater than its maximum HP, its current HP will be set equal to its maximum HP.
If the target has the Ability Liquid Ooze, the user will lose the amount of HP it would have gained instead.
If the user has a Big Root as its held item, it will recover 30% more HP than it normally would. Big Root does not increase damage dealt.
Drain Punch's base PP is raised to 10 and the power is increased from 60 to 75.
Drain Punch cannot be used if the user is under the effects of Heal Block.
Meditite punches forward and its arm becomes surrounded in green energy with white streaks spiraling around it. When the attack hits the opponent, green sparks come off the opponent and onto Meditite, causing it to gain health.
Mienfoo's fist becomes surrounded in a green orb of energy. It then punches the opponent. When the attack hits the opponent, sparkling green orbs of energy fly out of the opponent and into Mienfoo, draining the opponent's energy.
Breloom's claw becomes surrounded by a black orb with blue-white sparkles, outlined in green. When it punches the opponent, green, sparkling energy appears where the opponent was hit, which flies back towards Breloom in an orb, bathing it in a sparkling green glow that heals it.
Kadabra delivers a powerful punch to the opponent with one of its fists. As it strikes the opponent, its fist becomes surrounded in a bright aura. When the fist makes contact with the opponent, it absorbs some of its energy.
