The Dragon type is one of the eleven TCG types. It is represented by the color gold and symbolized by a serpentine figure.
The Dragon type contains most Dragon-type Pokémon found in the main series video games. For example, Salamence, Rayquaza, and Haxorus are all Dragon types in the TCG. All Dragon-type Pokémon represented in the TCG so far have received Dragon-type cards from Dragon Vault onwards, except for Mega Ampharos, Mega Sceptile, Tyrunt, Noibat, Turtonator, and Guzzlord.
The Dragon type was introduced in the Dragon Vault set. Prior to this, all Dragon types were generally Colorless types.
Unlike all other types, there is no Dragon type Basic Energy card, and no Pokémon can use a Dragon type energy in its attack. As such, all Dragon type Pokémon cards use a combination of the other basic energy types in their attacks.
