Draco Meteor (Japanese: りゅうせいぐん Dragon Meteor Shower) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV.

Draco Meteor can only be tutored to Dragon-type Pokémon. In the Sinnoh region, you can find the tutor (grandma Wilma) on Route 210 in her house, and in Johto, the tutor is in Blackthorn City.

Similar to Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant, and Hydro Cannon, the Pokémon that the move is to be taught to must have a high happiness rating.

Effect

Draco Meteor inflicts damage, and lowers the user's Special Attack by two stages afterward, thus making this move along with its variations best used as a last resort.

Trivia

  • Since this move can only be taught to dragon types, this means that Pokémon like Charizard and Gyarados, despite their dragon-like characteristics, cannot be taught the move. Even Horsea, Seadra, Swablu, and Trapinch cannot learn the move, despite being related to Dragon-types.
  • Smeargle is one of only three non-Dragon-type Pokémon able to learn Draco Meteor, due to Sketch. The others are Jirachi and Arceus without Draco Plate (it needs to be holding the plate when it learns the move).
  • Mew, though repeatedly said on the Pokédex to be able to learn any move, is not able to learn Draco Meteor because it can only be taught to Template:Type2 Pokémon.
