Dr. Wiseman (Japanese: トリガイ Torigai) is a character of the day who appeared in Fowl Play!. He is a collector of rare Pokémon who is particularly interested in studying differences between unusual variations in Pokémon.
Dr. Wiseman had moved to a forest cabin in the hopes of capturing an elusive and intelligent Shiny Noctowl. However, the Noctowl was constantly outsmarting him and always caught on to his plans. Eventually, Wiseman enlisted the help of Ash and his friends to try to capture the Noctowl, but the plan came to a halt when Team Rocket arrived and tried to steal the Owl Pokémon for themselves. Ash, not wanting Noctowl to get hurt, freed it from Team Rocket's Noctowl mecha. To return the favor, Noctowl told Ash's Pokémon its plan to defeat Team Rocket.
