'''Dr. Akihabara''' (Japanese: '''アキハバラ博士''' ''Dr. Akihabara'') is a [[character of the day]] from the episode [[EP038]], but because the seizures caused by the episode caused it to be banned worldwide, he has never appeared in the {{pkmn|anime}} outside Japan. His last name is the name of a {{wp|Akihabara|Japanese district}} famous for its electronics stores.

Although not much is known about this mysterious man, it is revealed that he created the Pokémon Transfer System. He has blue hair and wears glasses with spirals on the lenses. He is also a little bit eccentric and is thought to be slightly insane. He has created two {{p|Porygon}}, one prototype and one full model. At the end of the seizure-inducing explosion, Akihabara's house is destroyed, along with his software, disabling him from entering the computer world.

|desc=This {{p|Porygon}} prototype, called "[[List of Pokémon temporarily owned by Team Rocket#Porygon Zero|Porygon Zero]]", was stolen from Akihabara by {{TRT}} that used it after entering the computer world, where they could steal [[Poké Ball]]s during their transportation from one [[Pokémon Center]] to another. As Porygon was able to change its size in there, they could ride on it. Team Rocket also used Porygon Zero to fight against the other Porygon that Akihabara had loaned to {{Ash}} and {{ashfr}}, and eventually lost. When Team Rocket was escaping from the vaccine program activated by [[Nurse Joy]], it got hit by the vaccine's powerful cannon, and was [[Fainting|knocked out]]. After Team Rocket was saved by Ash and co. and was taken out of the computer world, they left Porygon Zero behind and ran away.

|desc=Akihabara loaned his other Porygon to Ash and his friends when they went to the computer world in order to find and stop Team Rocket and return Akihabara's stolen Porygon prototype, Porygon Zero. Ash and friends used this Porygon to ride in the computer world, likewise to how Team Rocket used Porygon Zero to get around. Porygon battled against Porygon Zero as a distraction so Ash and co. could remove the road block keeping the Poké Balls from transferring. They were all forced to flee the scene when a vaccine program was installed by a technician hired by Nurse Joy reached the scene. After Team Rocket was taken out by the vaccine's laser blast, Porygon went back and saved them. However, Porygon was much slower with the added weight, they all managed to get out of the computer world just before the vaccine destroyed the portal between the two worlds. Both Porygon and Porygon Zero were returned to Akihabara.
