Download (Ability)

Download (Japanese: ダウンロード Download) is an ability introduced in Generation IV. Only four Pokémon have this ability, three of which belong to the same evolutionary line.

Effect

In battle

Download raises either the Attack stat or Special Attack stat by one stage depending on the foe's lowest defensive stat (i.e. it will raise Special Attack if the foe's Special Defense is lower than its Defense stat). If the foe's Defense and Special Defense are equal, the Special Attack stat is increased. During a double battle, Download will add the two Pokémon's stats and calculate the lower stat between both.

Outside of battle

Download has no effect outside of battle.
