Dario in the anime

Dario (Japanese: ドリオ Dorio) is a character of the day who appeared in The Flame Pokémon-athon!. He also appeared in The Electric Tale of Pikachu.

In the anime

Dario was an arrogant and rude Trainer who went to great lengths to win the Big P Pokémon Race. He resorted to cheating, and hired Team Rocket to stage a stampede that resulted in his rival competitor Lara Laramie breaking her arm. While could not compete, Ash entered in her place, riding her Ponyta.
