Damp (Ability)

Damp (Japanese: しめりけ Moisture) is an Ability introduced in Generation III. Eighteen Pokémon can have this Ability, all of which except two (from the same evolution line) are of the Template:Type2.

Effect

In battle

Damp prevents self-destruction and the use of moves such as Selfdestruct and Explosion. If Selfdestruct or Explosion are selected in battle, the attack will fail and the user will not faint.

Outside of battle

Damp has no effect outside of battle.

	If the opponent tries to use Selfdestruct or Explosion near Poliwrath, smoke will rise from the opponent, but no explosion happens. The opponent also gets knocked out.
Red's Poli	Attacking the Entire Island		Debut
	If the opponent tries to use Selfdestruct of Explosion near Deoxys, the opponent with start to glow brightly, and so will Deoxys's core. The opponent then stops glowing and it cannot explode.
