Trivia

  • One of the boys calls Kojirō "Kosanji", which usually is used to refer to Kosaburō. In the dub, the boy calls James "Old man".
  • The instrumental version of A Small Thing from Jirachi: Wish Maker is used as background music.
  • Professor Oak's Pokémon lecture: Weavile
    • Pokémon senryū: ながいつめ ニューっとひっかく マニューラよ
  • Ash and Dawn narrate the next episode preview.
  • Team Rocket does not blast off in this episode
  • Jessie breaks the fourth wall when she says to start up the season in style with the old get-up and go strategy. This is the second episode of the season.

Errors

  • When Pachirisu used its attacks on Turtwig and Cacnea, in inflicted a lot of damage, despite Cacnea and Turtwig being Grass-types.
  • Just before Aipom used Focus Punch, Cacnea looked like he was using Drain Punch outward. It should have twisted it inward.
