The Cute Contest is one of five different Pokémon Contest categories, the other four being Beauty, Smart, Cool and Tough. Pokémon that are fed Sweet Pokéblocks or Poffin will have an enhanced Cute condition; this can be assisted with the Pink Scarf. Most Cute moves are Normal, Psychic, and Template:Type2s, but many other types of moves are Cute as well. Cute moves often involve moves that Pokémon learn early in their movesets and/or are not effective in battle, such as Tail Whip, Assist, Water Gun and Growl. During a Cute Contest, the following moves will excite the crowd:

The cuteness condition is raised by Poffin or Pokéblocks made with sweet-flavored berries. Pokémon with natures that boost speed - Timid, Hasty, Jolly, and Naïve - get the most benefit from sweet berries, so they will be the easiest to raise for a cuteness contest.

Belly Drum 1 0 Ups the user's condition. Helps prevent nervousness. 0 Earn double the score in the next turn. Normal
Block 2 ♥♥ 0 Makes all Pokémon after the user nervous. 2 ♥♥ Prevents the Voltage from going up in the same turn. Normal
Bounce 1 0 Can avoid being startled by others. 1 Earn +3 if no other Pokémon has chosen the same Judge. Flying
Bubble 2 ♥♥ 2 ♥♥ Startles all Pokémon that have made their appeals for this turn. 2 ♥♥ Enables the user to perform last in the next turn. Water
Charm 2 ♥♥ 1♥ Subtract 4 appeal points from any Pokémon who appealed before the user who used the same type of move. Subtract 1 point from any who did not use the same type of move. 2 ♥♥ Prevents the Voltage from going down in the same turn. Normal
Covet 1 0 The appeal works as well as the ones in front. 0 Steals the Voltage of the Pokémon that just went. Normal

Encore 2 ♥♥ 0 Makes all Pokémon after the user nervous. 1 Earn +3 if two Pokémon raise the Voltage in a row. Normal
