Conway (Japanese: コウヘイ Kōhei) is a recurring character from the anime. His first appearance was in Tag! We're It! as Dawn's tag-team partner.
Characteristics and history
Conway was shown to be a very smart Trainer. His strategies played an important role in helping himself and Dawn to advance to the finals of the Hearthome City Tag Battle Competition.
Conway appears again in Camping It Up! through One Team, Two Team, Red Team, Blue Team! during a four-episode arc at a summer school. During this arc he demonstrates his knowledge about Pokémon as well as an attraction towards Dawn. He later appears at the end of the opening The Greatest - Everyday!.
His most recent appearance is in episode DP182, where it is revealed he is also entering the Suzuran Conference. In DP183, he passed the first round, then in DP184 he made it through the second and had his third round opponent revealed to be Ash. He will battle Ash in DP185.
Conway uses very effective strategies, but doesn't improvise much, something that has led to several losses for him. Examples include using Psychic to redirect an attack, using Protect while another Pokémon attacks, and so on.

| Slowking is Conway's main Pokémon. When Dawn first meets Conway, Slowking is with him and Dawn thinks both are creepy, but Conway tells her that Slowking has taken a liking to her. On their first battle, Conway tells Dawn to not worry about defense, so her Piplup uses several moves and Slowking keeps on defending it with attacks like Safeguard. It is later seen again in the Pokémon Summer Academy where it showed off some impresive moves agaist Jessie's Yanmega.
