Release information
Original Series
This card was included in the Base Set with artwork by Keiji Kinebuchi, first released in the Japanese Expansion Pack. Prototype Pokémon Leagues were given the Trainer Deck B, which included this card, before the Base Set's official release. This print has a red border and "Trainer Deck B" printed on the back. Outside Japan, it was reprinted in the Base Set 2 expansion. This card was also featured in the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Card GB2: Here Comes Team GR! for Game Boy Color.

Computer Search was later included in the Boundaries Crossed expansion as an Ace Spec Item card with updated artwork by Ryo Ueda, first released in the Japanese Cold Flare expansion.
Sun & Moon Series
In Japan, a Non Holofoil version of the Boundaries Crossed print was available in the Extra Regulation Box from October 4, 2019.
