Kijūrō and his Mr. Mime

Kijūrō (Japanese: キジュウロウ Kijūrō) is a character of the day in DP159. He is voiced by 小山力也 Rikiya Koyama in Japanese.

He and Ash had a battle after meeting. Despite Ash's Buizel using its strongest moves, his Mr. Mime was still able to defend itself using its psychic powers. After defeating Ash and his Buizel in battle, he helped Ash in teaching Buizel Ice Punch. Later on, they have a second battle, in which his Mr. Mime was defeated by Buizel with the help of the activation of Swift Swim and its newly learned move.

Kijūrō has a strange quirk in which he makes pointless abbreviations, such as "Pokérainer" (Pokémon Trainer), "okamu" (okawari o tanomu) or "tōfu" (sentō fu). He even dubbed Ash and his friends with abbreviated nicknames: Ash as SatoBuoy (Satoshi and Buoysel), Dawn as "HikaPocha" (Hikari and Pochama), and Brock as "TakeBree" (Takeshi the Breeder).
