Clark

Clark (Japanese: ヒュウガ Hyūga) is a character of the day who appeared in Shocks and Bonds. He is a Pokémon Trainer who took part in the Double Battle rounds of the Ever Grande Conference.

Clark was known as "The Conductor", and he used a baton to literally "conduct" his Pokémon in battle. He faced Ash in the third and last of the Trainer's Double Battles. During this battle, Clark sent out his Quilava and Charizard against Ash's Grovyle and Glalie. It appeared that Ash had an overwhelming disadvantage, but he kept his cool. Clark made his Pokémon attack using their various Fire-type attacks, while Ash had his Pokémon use their best. Eventually, Grovyle defeated Quilava, but ended up getting knocked out by Charizard's Steel Wing.

Using his Glalie, Ash created several ice pillars, preventing Charizard from coming in and attacking directly with its Heat Wave. It also used the pillars to bounce and evade Charizard's moves. Glalie used Headbutt to take the win, allowing Ash to move on to the next round, while Clark was eliminated from the tournament.
