Chespin (Japanese: ハリマロン Harimaron) is a Grass-type Pokémon.
Along with Fennekin and Froakie, Chespin is one of three starter Pokémon of Kalos available at the beginning of Pokémon X and Y.
Along with Fennekin, Froakie, Xerneas, and Yveltal, it was the first Generation VI Pokémon to be revealed to the public, being revealed on January 8, 2013 as part of the Pokémon Direct broadcast.
Biology
Physiology
Chespin are bipedal, mammalian Pokémon. They have a light brown front with dark brown arms and three triangular markings on their face. They appear to wear a green coat on their back. The coat has four leaf-like projections around the face, and one split into three parts on the back of their head. They have a long, tapered tail with a red tip. They have small, brown eyes with white pupil, a triangular red nose, and rodent-like incisors. Their arms have three fingers, while their feet have two long claws.
Gender differences
Special abilities
Chespin has a tough shell covering its head and back that protects it from attacks. It can put its strength into the spikes on its head to stiffen them and use them to stab opponents.
Behavior
Despite having a curious nature that tends to get it in trouble, Chespin keeps an optimistic outlook and doesn't worry about small details.
