Captain Crook

Captain Crook (Japanese: デボ Debo) is the character of the day in the anime episode Viva Las Lapras. He is a pirate captain who has been known to poach Pokémon as well as the main antagonist of the episode.

Crook captains a pirate ship, which sails around a Pokémon no-capture zone in search of Pokémon to poach. The first mate, Scuz, keeps a lookout and alerts the captain to any promising targets. The captain then fires the ship's cannons at the target; however, these cannons are loaded with Poké Balls, each one containing a Tentacruel, which the captain uses to subdue targets.

In the episode, Ash, Misty and Tracey were about to take the ferry back to Pallet Town until they saw Lapras's friends and family. This school of Lapras was the next target of Captain Crook and his crew. Ash and his friends intervened with the pirates' plans. Afterwards, Captain Crook and his crew were arrested, as well as Team Rocket agents Jessie, James and Meowth. Misty then released every one of the captain's Tentacruel.

Captain Crook's Tentacruel
Tentacruel (multiple)
Captain Crook used to have multiple Tentacruel, but in the end they were released by Misty. They first appeared when they were fired out of cannons to capture a group of Lapras. They attack with Poison Sting but it is blocked by the lead Lapras, and Crook sends more out which circle the Lapras. The captain orders all of them to attack, but Ash's Pikachu attacks with Thunderbolt. It does stop them, but it hurts the Lapras as well as Ash's group since water conducts electricity. Ash's Lapras fires a Water Gun at the leader Tentacruel making all of them follow Ash. They fire a Supersonic attack at Ash and the leader is about to attack but is suddenly frozen by the Lapras. They are then all released by Misty.

Tentacruel's known moves are Poison Sting and Supersonic.
